Back Home

Back home after another wintery day. Roads were much better than yesterday and its always kind of nice when you can see the highway and whatever traffic is approaching.
Spring can't come soon enough.

What a day

Out on the road today and ran into a blizzard. Roads weren't to bad from Rosetown to Kindersley but then I took the
secondary (aren't all highways in Saskatchewan secondary) from Kindersley to Swift Current. Blowing snow and ploughing
snow with the truck all the way to Kyle. Got into Swift Current about two and a half hours later than normal. Did my calls,
then headed on for Regina. Finally at Moose Jaw I pulled off the road and got a hotel room in Moose Jaw. Hopefully
things will not get any worse overnight.
I hate winter !

Cross Country Skis

Well we went out and bought cross country skis and all the accessories yesterday.
Now I am just checking to make sure my life insurance and disability premiums are all in effect and paid up.
You never know, maybe I will see a moose out there. With my luck it will probably be some 300 pound guy who's nickname is Moose out on the trail with his trapping
partner Bubba. Have to remember to take my camera along. Now that would make quite a shot wouldn't it.

I have rewritten the Canadian National Anthem

Sung to the tune of Oh Canada (of course)

Obama,
Welcome to our home and native land
Please bring us free trade or any thing you can

With open hands and hopeful hearts
Keep our border free
And bring some cash for Chrysler and GMC

Barock, keep our land glorious and free
Obama, we look to thee
Obama, we stand on guard for thee

**Note** - no musical pun intended but you really got to hold the note on GMC

Good help is hard to find

One of our production girls is away this week getting married. That has left us with one girl to produce a 40 page publication.
Not an easy task. Trying to find someone qualified full time is difficult enough, finding someone part time is harder and
finding someone temporarily is well, next to impossible. Sometimes the best resources though are found right under your
nose and in a difficult situation we were able to secure some type setting help

Ottawa visit

I am going to Ottawa on March 4th. Am wondering if Governor General Michele Jean will be there to greet me at the airport ? Will there be a motorcade in my honor ?
Will the media be there to document my every step ? Uh, I doubt it.
Obama mania is overblown

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to everyone out there.
I am reminded of a song years ago...I think it was Dionne Warwick or Dusty Springfield. What the world needs now is love..sweet love..thats the only thing that theres just too little of. True then and unfortunately true today.

My four legged friend

My little four legged friend Diego has been very sick for the last four or five days.
Took him to the vet again yesterday and now they think I may have purchased a bag of
rancid food and that made him sick.
Tim and Sarah took him to the vet while we were in Cuba and at first they thought he had a blockage but ruled that out.
Was up with him basically all night sunday and last night every two hours so it got a little better.
They have switched him to a better food and also have him on some medicated food so hopefully that will get him back to normal.
Apparently the stuff I was feeding him for the last two years (all his life basically) and you purchase at the local grocery stores is not that good. The vet said it would be like you and I eating every meal of our life at McDonald's. YECH !
Sorry Ronald, it just doesn't appeal to me

Stolen truck

On Friday night January 30th, Tim's truck was stolen off his driveway including
some of his tools. I spent several hours driving around the city searching for it
Saturday and Sunday. Today Tim joined me and we found his truck.
We called police and they have recovered the truck, towed it in for finger print dusting and hopefully in a few days it will go to the body shop for some repairs.
Minor damage to one side, cab had been trashed but it appears his tools were still
there as well as some other personal items.
This is a major answer to prayer and we are grateful
